About

Prof. Srikrishnan Siva Subramanian obtained his Ph.D. from Hokkaido University, Sapporo, Japan with a specialization in Geotechnical Engineering. Presently, an Assistant Professor at IIT Roorkee India, earlier he was working as a Post Doc in IIT Gandhinagar, India, Chengdu University of Technology, China, and Hokkaido University, Japan. His research specializes in “developing multi-scale numerical modeling tools to understand post-seismic and aseismic shallow slope failures and debris flows in cold and warm regions”. He has proposed a “slope-scale stability assessment approach for soil slopes in cold regions” and developed a “sequentially-coupled catchment-scale numerical model for snowmelt-induced shallow landslides”. He developed a “novel numerical model for rainfall runoff-induced debris flows initiation considering variable soil moisture”. Having worked in a real-time territorial landslide early warning system (Te-LEWSs) in Japan, he has developed critical thresholds for the early warning of snowmelt-induced shallow landslides. So far, he has published 24 international research articles in reputed journals i.e., JGR: Earth Surface, Engineering Geology, Soils and Foundations, Landslides, Earth-Science Reviews, Geophysical Research Letters, and Science of the Total Environment.
